Thank you letter

Dear Mrs Rose, I am very lucky to have you looking after me and my classmates when our teachers all left to go on a camp site with all the year sixes. You had us in your care at school, so you were looking over us every movement. You would worry and think where would I be or someone else. Because you obviously would not want to lose me. We all made mistakes that were unforgettable towards you. Well Mrs Rose thankyou for being there mostly when I really needed to have somebody by my side. You were always there. And mostly when I was teaching the last bits of the dance you encouraged me, and that gave me a lot of confidence to teach. But still you joined in the dance and I was so appreciated to have you there, and hopefully you will come back and visit us.

Matariki fun day

Two weeks ago on a Wednesday was Point England’s Matariki fun Day. This meant that we only had two days to finish all of our work on time. But we all had to choose on Friday the week before. We only had to choose two choices. My first choice was sports and my second choice was art. On the day of the fun day I was pulled in with something unexpected that I didn’t know was going to happen. I was in maker space with my friend and a couple more kids my age and up. We were all put into groups of three with a person who knows how to videography. All the groups had a paper that Ms West had printed out for us all. Thankfully We had chosen team 5 so quick.

Me, Aniqua and Khyani made our way over to Team 5 with a camera that had a strap. We Had to take a few photos with the camera around the classroom. Room 3 were making stars with wood and rubber bands, but they had to hammer the nails into the wood. Room 2 made a diorama and silhouette of people looking up at the Matariki stars. Room 1 had fruit salad cans. They drew whatever they wanted on a paper and stuck it to the can. They made holes in the can and put a light in there so that it could be a lamp and would light up. Room 5 made fry bread. They put all of the ingredients together and they baked in the oven. It smelt so yum! Room 4 decorated cookies. They had to make their own icing, and got to decorate it with sprinkles. They were blue, green, red, purple, and yellow which are colours that can be seen in the sky.

After that we all had to eat for morning tea. Me and Aniqua had chatted with our friends and talked about what we were all learning in the classes we were put in. After morning tea had finished, Miss West gave us a video camera. Our task was to record the classes in Team 5. I liked walking around the different classes and looking at what they were doing. It was fun pressing record and sharing the camera around to others.

After lunch was when we had to edit all of the photos and videos that we took that day. We had edited and edited and edited. My favourite part was watching the funny parts and adding in the music. A huge thank you to Ms West for including me in the videography.
